iTardis has Arrived!

Well I am happy to say that I have finished my first Tardis iPod Cozy and it feels good. If anyone were to see me this morning at 5:30am when I had gotten home from work wired as all get up I was weaving in ends. I must say I had issues with the three needle bind off at the end for the dock connector but I solved them before I had went into work.

There have been some lumps and bumps but on a whole I have found it to be a fun learning experience. Now the moment we all have been waiting for. Here is as good of a close up of the front and back as I could manage to capture.

iTardis Materializing?

Well I figured I would add another little update of my lovely little cozy which is coming along well but...I noticed that I did some miss aligning of the doors, something I will have to make sure I fix with the next cozy that I do. It is still a bit hard to tell even in the close up, or at least closer up since my camera does not like to auto focus with so many pointy objects to focus on to get a real close up. Hopefully the problem will be solved when the cozy is finished.

Apparently I have become popular with my friends and I now have a short standing list of cozies I shall be making for others. Fun fun for me ^^ gives me lots of guinea pigs...test subjects... er... interesting gifts! Yeah that's it!

iTardis? Why yes yes it is

I decided a few days ago, well about a week a go baring having to wait on white yarn to come in at the local JoAnn Fabrics to make myself a iPod cozy but not just any iPod cozy oh no. I am making myself a TARDIS. Been something I have wanted to do for a little while now and I finally got it started. The top picture is just a happy accident that I decided to monopolize for the rest of the in progress pictures. Here is a close up of the cozy after the first few rounds.

This particular cozy I have actually started twice, I tore it out once because I was gaping horribly at the connection point of the round. The second progress picture with our lovely Weeping Angel, is the nice start that I have had after ripping the bugger out three or four times just to get the windows to look right since I have made a tiny modification to the patter. I have another modification that I will more then likely try on the second cozy before I try my super secret cozy idea that will take much more planning. It is a surprise.

For now here are a few pics to show for me to share more should follow soon now that I am over my fear of US 1/UK 2.25 double pointed needles.

To Do! List

I have made myself knitting To Do! List. That I have printed out to hang on my door in my room right in visual range to be used as a reminder. I also figured I would post it here so that others can see what is on the list.

Knitting

o Work on Dad’s Jacket
o Work on TARDIS iPod Cozy
o Figure out new cozy pattern with doors
o Finish spring colored scarf

The iPod cozy is coming along nicely so far hopefully I will get a chance to take pictures tomorrow. I found the pattern through a live journal community and have started to modify the pattern slightly so that I can embroider the window panes instead of knitting each individual one. First time working on size 2.25mm or US 1 double pointed needles. It has been quite interesting so far and I have only had to tear it out once... so far.
