Happy Feet not so happy...

Well I started Emma King's pattern for the Happy Feet socks in the November issue of Simply Knitting. It seems that the pattern is wrong for the heel turn. I am waiting on an email from them to see if they have corrective errata before trying to figure out the math to fix what it lacks.

I'd rather have the corrective errata. I really don't want to have to do the math. I will have to post some work in progress pictures when I get a chance.

Progress with Pictures

Well I figured I would update this little knitty blog of mine to include how the Afghan is coming along as well as how the pattern is progressing. So here we go!

Well here's the progress so far roughly about 7 inches I really like how its looking its coming out tight but not too tight with the color workings. It is moving along quickly, better then I thought so I have been at a stand still for the past few days while I write the pattern for it.

Here is a detail of how the corners look so far I think it came out well I have a few spots that will have to be touched up when I weave in ends just to pull some of the stitching tighter.

I'm to the point where I can test knit the next stage of the pattern so that I can see where I may still need to make adjustments other then that once the test knit is done and all checks out it will be time to fly through this baby. Smooth sailing after the pattern is added I know that much! That and I've started writing the pattern for another afghan already.

Progess!

Well figured I'd add just a tiny little update. Made it through the first four inches of my Afghan so far! Even fixed a big boo boo today it was awesome! Crochet hooks are amazing! I should hopefully have a pic or two up tomorrow. Now that I'm through the first 'challenging' part of this project.

Still have to finish plotting out the rest of the design. Still have a little way to go though about another five inches or so roughly before I have to worry too much. I think tomorrow may be creating the right sized graph paper that I need. Wish me luck!

Epic Project

Yes yes this is going to be an Epic Project! I am knitting and Afghan. Yes you heard it right an Afghan. But not just any afghan but one of my own design. I will eventually post pictures when it is far enough along, say after the first four to six inches so it will be several days yet.

Knitting with Romana

Now this is not a knitting project but it does have to do with knitting and one of my favorite TV series Dr. Who and a former companion to the Doctor, the lovely Romana. Was on a book hunt for something completely different and what did I stumble across but the lovely Beastly Knits!

Why Yes Doctor I can Knit!

Project Catch-up: Christmas

I know I haven't posted here in a while so I figured I would start playing Project Catch-up! This past year I made all the girls in my department plus one lovely gentleman gifts for Christmas. Which I had a lot of fun doing. Here's what I made for the Lovely Ladies:

Fabulous beaded necklaces, the brown beads and the peach beads were given to me by one of my co-workers. They were his wife's project beads who unfortunately passed away. So here's to her memory, crafted with love.

Here is what I made for our Fabulous Gentleman:

Nothing better then keeping your ears warm with a thick reversible ear band. Purple is his favorite color so I was glad I found a nice shade to use. Now I must say I am no longer in this department at work but it doesn't matter I will always be a part of that department.

The Question of pants...

I started a pair of pants for the doll yesterday and I'm not quite sure if they are going to be the right style, so I might be knitting a different pair after these ones are done. I don't know yet. The goal for this week is to try and get the him, yes the doll is a him, stuffed. Not quite sure if this will be possible since it is a busy week but we shall see.

I do have another pattern for pants that I will have to modify if the first pair doesn't look right. Should be interesting either way. If nothing else it would give me some practice with the clothing if it doesn't work out. Though I really do feel like I am knitting something like a doctor who scarf while working on these pants with the start of 60 stitches. It made me laugh.
